Missionaries are a very important group of people.
Many of them have given up their homeland and comforts, just so they can share the Gospel message with the lost. Their task is not easy. Many hours of prayer and careful consideration must be given to know God's will, especially if they are in countries that persecute Christians.
What can you do to help and encourage them?
Well first of all you can pray for them. Prayer is the work!!
You can also encourage them! Why not write them a letter. It would encourage them so much to hear from a young Christian. Tell them that you are praying for them. That you appreciate their stand for Christ. Share some things from the scriptures with them.
You might wonder - what could I share with them. It's really simple. Your favourite Bible passages, something that you have learnt at church recently, even your testimony. You'll be amazed how much your words may mean. And it doesn't always have to be a letter; some missionaries can be contacted via email.
You can also get a group of friends to write a letter together.
